A sold-out crowd of 1,500 Hello Kitty fans packed EMP for the (supercute) opening party of Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty. Emcee Rachel Belle (97.3 KIRO FM) led the night’s adorable festivities, which included an interactive time capsule by Sebastian Masuda headed to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, nail art, opening drum performance from Seattle Kokon Taiko, and a J-pop dance party led by DJ Hojo of JK Pop. During the party, guests checked out EMP’s exhibit showcasing the ultimate global icon and her influence on art and culture around the globe: Hello Kitty. Hello! is presented by EMP Museum and the Japanese American National Museum in concert with Sanrio.
