Dress Code: BAM Ignite
Hands up if you've found that BAM is, as the kids say, killing it in terms of the highlighting the history of and return to thoughtful craft. Good, I see all hands are up. With shows like Bold Expression and High Fiber Diet, the Bellevue museum taps into a spirit of time-honored doing and making that is not just Pacific Northwestian but also modern, stylish, and global.
And that spirit is about to have a party.
BAM's Dolce Vita-themed after-hours interactive soiree, BAMignite, is set for Friday, April 12; it uses both the 1960 Fellini masterpiece and a new exhibit highlighting the stylish, icon-making design and photography of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo to set the mood.
Friends, there's every reason to start thinking about dashingly minimal, perfectly tailored Italian fashion. Think referencing Gucci's recent fall 2013 show for inspiration, and if you haven't already, treat yourself to a viewing of Fellini's 1960 masterpiece with an eye for mixing the real and surreal in mid-century Rome—but in modern-yet-traditional Bellevue.
