Countdown to Runway
IDRS 15 Files #4: Iris Klein
The designer brings her Northwest-inspired collection to life with watercolor tones, contrasting textures, and bright inserts.
With more than 14 design-filled years under her belt, Iris Klein is no newbie to the Seattle fashion scene. It was her use of color and shape that secured her a spot in this year’s Independent Designer Runway Showcase on September 23. Influenced by the mountainous landscape around her, Klein’s collection is all about rich scenic hues which she treats in unexpected ways. A ‘70s-style scalloped hem here, an intensely bright collar there, an array of contrasting textures—all are welcomed additions to her beautiful Northwest inspired line.
Klein spills the beans on her new collection, her Hollywood muses, and what inspires her as a designer.
