In May 2014, just two years shy of their last opening in South Lake Union, Goodwill Industries will reveal a Capitol Hill location, in the old Half Price Books space at 115 E Belmont.

Representatives say the spot will be 15,000 square feet, and will employ about 40 people sorting and selling clothing and accessories for kids and adults as well as home decor and housewares.

While there are obviously some good implications for the 'hood's vintage- and deal-loving hipster types, the organization's continuing growth is a good time to remember that it's not just a source of ironic sweaters and (hopefully!) cool old man overalls, but, a recycler of epic proportions—over 47 million tons last year—and a leading free job-training force for low-income and underserved Seattleites
