Posh Party Beauty and Trend Show
October 2, 2012

What we loved:
Oxblood. As off-putting as the word sounds, oxblood—basically the same color as burgundy, the color for fall 2011—is a sultry deep red that we're seeing everywhere. Terri Morgan of TCM Models calls it the new neutral for fall and suggests wearing it from head to toe. We're on board.

What we loved:
Power suiting. Women's suiting often toes the line between fierce and drab, but the Posh Party's bold runway looks were feminine with enough masculine touches to work. We loved the bright colors and interesting cuts that we hope to see on some badass business women this fall. Be sure to find a good tailor to keep looks fitted and fab.

What we loved:
Leather. In case you couldn't tell, we're big fans of this material for fall. The runway mostly featured edgy black leathers, but we love a creamy leather pant or bright jacket.

What we loved:
This coat. This Victorian, ruffle-hemmed knit coat from Macy's was featured as part of the "War Horse" trend for fall. The equestrian-meets-military theme was relatively hit-or-miss save for this navy show-stopper.

What we could lose:
The giant fur vest. I credit Rachel Zoe for killing it in the oversized fur vest the last few seasons, but this year we'd love to see a new style keeping you warm.

What we could lose:
Animal prints. Bear with me here (get it?)—I know some ladies love a good leopard print, but we saw looks that were a bit heavy on the wildlife. For just one season let's let the beasts be, and maybe put down the zebra in favor of chevron, or trade cheetah prints for polka-dots.
