What: Shop the spring and fall collections from Hervé Léger, best known for a little something called the bandage dress. Emphasis on little. Since the ‘80s, the dress has been hallmark of the line; imagine a thick, luxe Ace bandage made in vivid hues and artfully wrapped around the perfect bod. It isn’t the official uniform of Hollywood hotties for nothing.
But what makes the dress and the brand (which was given new life, and a cash infusion, by Max Azria) is that it’s constantly getting updated, riffed, reworked, and rewrapped. Turns out you can do a lot with high-end first aid compression materials. Léger’s spring 2011 collection introduced lighter, almost lingerie-like elements to the much-loved silhouette. Take a spin through the slideshow to see what we mean.
Sharon Proy, a representative from the label, will be on hand to talk about the current season look as well as fall 2011, which will be available for preorder. (We were also told she might dispense celebrity gossip and jetsetter trends, if you’re interested.) A gift with purchase is being offered by the Bravern shop, and Trophy cupcakes and wine will be served. Just take care that you’re already in whatever you’re trying on before you indulge.
“Body-con” and “buttercream” aren’t the best of friends.
When: Thursday, May 19 from 6:30 to 8:30.
