Opening Celebration: Rainn Wilson + Kiehl’s

The new Kiehl’s store at the Bellevue Mall: Smells great, feels luxurious, and it’s arty, too
I wish I knew a way to make a funny, workplace-centered skit-slash-blog post around the fact that Seattle-born actor Rainn Wilson (you know him from the Office, hence my desire to put this information around a photocopier and make something funny happen) is helping Bellevue Square celebrate their new Kiehl’s boutique. It’s not going to happen, though.
Here’s the deal: Wilson is in town for an engagement at the Moore Theatre, and he’s making the most of his time here by appearing at the new Kiehl’s on October 23 from 10:30 to noon. Wilson will join the company’s pres, Chris Salgardo, in honoring the locally based Mona Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports grassroots educational initiatives across the world. "Honoring," in this sense, means handing the foundation a $15,000 check. Heck of a way to open a shop, huh?
If you’re looking for a gift that gives back for the holidays, Kiehl’s is awfully jazzed about their Limited Edition Creme de Corps Holiday Collection, a collaboration with super cool pop artist Jeff Koons.
100 percent of Kiehl’s worldwide net profits (up to $200,000) from this collection — which isn’t available until November — will benefit the Koons Family Institute an initiative of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC).
