Blowouts are the new haircut, particularly at happy hour

It’s Friday. Soon enough (please, soon enough) it’ll be Friday night. You’ve got parties tonight, a stack of them, and in this wind and sideways rain, you’re looking a little, well, sideways. I mean, c’mon, I’m just saying what you already know.

You might – might – consider skipping the liquid happy hour thing in favor of hair happy hour at the Steven Barrett Salon.

Blowouts are the new haircut, haven’t you heard? At Steven Barret, where the vibe is a sort of highly-styled-even-though-I-just-rolled-outta-bed-and-landed-in-this-uptown/downtown-lacquered-low-rent-loft kind of thing, a cool $20 gets your locks back in shape and earns you a sip of this and a bite of that to boot.

But only through the month of November. Once December hits, you’re on your own — or rather, the promotion is over and regular prices apply.

Short hair? Yeah, me too. If you’re in the blowdryer-free zone as a matter of circumstance, pause and consider your nails. Not so hot? I’m loving the muted-eggplant-stirred-into-dark-chocolate shade called “Toni” currently being served up at Julep. Give it a shot.

When you feel good, you look good – and when look good, you feel good. That’s the bottom line. Please enjoy your weekend.
