Once local Russian-born designer Madina Vadache arrived in Seattle in the late 90s and began designing voluminous, grand wedding gowns and sending brides down the aisle in them shortly before the millennium. Last year, she launched a ready-to-wear collection, and then a few months ago, headed for New York. She’s back in Seattle – but just for a visit.
Chief among the reasons for her return was a visit to the Finerie. The designer’s gowns and inky-colored, gossamer-feeling leggings, swing tops, capes, and dresses were formerly on offer at Polite Society before that Belltown shop shuttered its doors; they’ll now be available further down First Ave at the Finerie.
The co-ed boutique makes a great home for Vadache’s locally designed, dramatic shapes; for a store so hell-bent on high glamor and glossy, gem-studded party-gear, they’re equally adamant about stocking sustainable lines and eco-friendly attire.
Madina will be at the Downtown shop this Thursday night, August 27, to celebrate her line’s new home, and to tell you all about her new place in Battery Park city and her studio in Chelsea. Check the slideshow for the flier on the event—as well as a couple of Madina Vadache looks as captured in our recent fashion and wedding fashion coverage.
