Don’t tell David Lawrence shoppers that luxury brands are out. The look at both the Downtown and the Bellevue shops is slick, European, and Designer – capital D. But among Italian glamor and slinky looks is DSquared, a youthful but high-end line that seems to want high to look a little low-key this fall. When we asked the DL team on Fourth Ave to play favorites, they selected three DSq styles in black, black, and black – one smart, one classic, and one completely sexed-up.

You’re meant to wear the crocodile pumps, riding boots, and studded ankle spikers shown here with leather shorts, baggy denim, brightly colored gowns, porter caps, lumberjack shirts and everything in between. Because if a just-so pair of glossy shoes can’t tie a stolen boyfriend cardigan in with a red carpet princess silhouette, what can?
