Sonic Boom + Velouria = Love for Pike/Pine

Remember back in May when word got out about Velouria owner Tes de Luna opening a second shop on Capitol Hill? Well, when I chatted with her about her gutsy move, she hinted that another very significant shop had plans to move in next to her in the new space.
Well, it’s official now, so we can all ahhwwwww together: Sonic Boom Records, which just so happens to be co-owned by Jason Hughes, who just so happens to play the love interest in de Luna’s life, will open alongside Velouria II this fall.
Shoppers of hot vinyl and indie fashion know that the couple’s Ballard shops are already cozied in next to each other on NW Market St, so we can assume they’re already accustomed to commuting to work together and whatnot. Very well then.
The new shop — you’ll find it on Melrose between Pike and Pine — weighs in at just under 3000 sq ft, meaning there will be all kinds of room for more live, in-store performances.
