It seemed like the right place to find a pile of colorful, charming Seattle ephemera
men just don’t wear ties like these anymore — they don’t go with the slimmer cuts and leaner lines …. i think it’s up to the ladies to keep them alive. image that gorgeous blue-striped one over a loose-fitting, paper-thing white tee shirt, and underneath an 80s-cut blazer with subtle shoulder pads…..
And I fell in love with this hot pink chaise lounge
And then there was this pile of old, never-used bumperstickers — whatever happened to bumperstickers? you just don’t see them anymore… I realize that in many ways that’s a good thing, but does it mean, on some level, that we’ve lost our taste for dumb humor?
This one was like an old friend from 1986 or so — it become my absolute manifesto (but I’m more than happy to share it with you)
And then it was off to Abbondanza Statuary…
I always love these kinds of places – somehow surreal, but then so ordinary too.
The fellow who was working there told me that most folks are shopping for Asian and religious pieces…
but then added that five or so years ago, it was PiPi Boy, or Brussels Boy, who was the biggest seller – I cannot make heads or tales of that trend, so let me know if you have an angle on it - he comes, of course, in fountain form, too
