Bare Market Indeed

Nancy Meyer Fine Lingerie
A recent conversation over coffee one morning at my house went something like this:
Him: Hmm. Says here business is good at lingerie shops.
Me: What lingerie shops?
Him: I don’t know, lingerie shops in general I guess.
Me: Business is good?
Him: Yeah, sales are up. People aren’t going out as much, so women are buying more lingerie to keep things interesting for all those nights at home.
Me: Are you trying to tell me something?
Him: No. I’m just telling you that lingerie shops seem to be recession proof. I thought you’d want to know.
Me: Oh, right, yeah. I do want to know. Thanks.
Now that I know, I figured it might be a good time to take another look at this Cornershop piece from last August. It was August when we ran this, so it was hot—and, of course, the world was a totally different place.
Funny that the headline still works so well, though.
I’m wondering if there are other favorite lingerie shops around town—-or, for that matter, womens’ shops that carry really beautiful unmentionables.
I mean — because they’re surviving the recession and all… I just figure you’d want me to know …
