Enroll Smarter: See How Washington Virtual Schools Is Redefining K–12 Education
Families today want more than the one-size-fits-all education they find in brick-and-mortar or other virtual schools. They want support and the confidence that their child is truly being seen. That’s why we’re here.
Washington Virtual Schools is a tuition-free, online public school serving K-12 students across Washington state. We believe learning should be engaging, flexible, and full of possibility, guiding students to the future that works best for who they are.
Our Mission
As part of the larger Stellar Virtual constellation, our guiding mission shines in everything we do: Empower Families, Unleash Potential. Though Stellar is a national company, we're dedicated to providing every student with a personalized educational experience. Our schools are led by resident principals, who carefully select local educators. At a Stellar school you get the best of both worlds: large-scale resources with a small school approach.
Our Promise
uBu! - Are you looking for teachers who leverage student interests to guide academic engagement? Look no further! At Washington Virtual, every child is seen and encouraged to follow their passions and learn as they learn.
School of One - Where traditional schools often fall short with large class sizes and a relentless pace, we build around the individual. Through text, email, live lessons, and calls, our teachers establish a real relationship with families to ensure each student receives the attention they need.
Education with Destination - Memorization should never be the standard; that’s why we build life skills into the fabric of our school. Critical thinking, empathy, collaboration, problem solving, and digital fluency are critical to our curriculum, set alongside college and career preparation. By the time your child graduates, they’ll be ready to take on the world as a well-rounded individual.
Why Online Learning?
Over the past several years, online education has grown rapidly, and for good reason. Parents are finding that virtual schools can offer a variety of benefits that you miss out on in traditional schools:
- Flexibility in scheduling that helps balance academics, family life, and extracurriculars.
- A safe and supportive environment for students who may need alternatives to brick-and-mortar schools.
- Personalized instruction from teachers who understand how to meet students where they are.
- Access to technology and tools that prepare students for the future.
- A lower carbon footprint. School campuses use a lot of energy to heat, cool, and light their buildings, and there are much lower emissions without pick-ups or drop-offs.
Future-Focused
Whether your child is college-bound or set on a technical career, they need a strong foundation for their future. At Washington Virtual, we give students the space to pace their studies in ways that support mastery. Some of our college prep includes:
- Rigorous Curriculum: From English and Math to Physics and World History, students complete accredited courses aligned with college expectations.
- Dual Credit Classes: Through partnerships with local universities, our students can earn college credit while still in high school. This experience saves time and tuition while students preview what college-level coursework demands.
- Career Exploration: At Stellar Pines, we create space for exploration. We can build career pathways directly into the curriculum, giving students the chance to connect their passions to careers in business, health sciences, computer technology, or the arts. These classes provide practical knowledge while allowing students to test out their interests before committing to a career path.
- Certification Courses: Our certification courses allow students to leave their classes with more than a good grade. For many, these skills can open doors to stable, well-paying jobs right after graduation, even if they choose not to pursue a four-year degree.
Forging Paths
In a world full of deadlines, standardized tests, and ever-changing curriculum, it’s easy for families to feel like they’re lost in education. Classrooms cater to the average student, but can leave those who need more time, attention, and flexibility struggling through no fault of their own.
This doesn’t have to be the case. Each and every educator at Washington Virtual Schools is ready to support our students, building a community constellation. We hope to welcome even more families, guiding them out of the dark and down their path to the future.
