Now in its sixth year, this renowned festival is set to dazzle attendees with an impressive array of exhibitions, interactive events, and live demonstrations, all celebrating the vibrant glass art community in Seattle.

90+ events showcase 70+ local glass artists throughout the region! Thanks to the commitment of Visit Seattle and Chihuly Garden and Glass, many events are free to attend.

This year, Refract is bringing an extraordinary lineup of events and activities that showcase the incredible talent of glass artists, from “Blown Away” contestants to emerging local stars.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Exhibitions at Traver Gallery Featuring “Blown Away” Stars: Discover the stunning creations of “Blown Away” Season 4 Grand Prize winner Morgan Peterson, Challenge winners Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen, Gemma Hollister, and more.
- Exclusive Studio Tours: Gain rare access to private artist studios across Seattle, including Dale Chihuly’s private studio and hotshop, The Boathouse. This is your chance to meet the artists, see them at work, and experience their creative processes up close.
- Engaging Live Demonstrations: Witness the magic of glassblowing, 3D printing, kiln casting, and neon bending. Daily demonstrations will take place at Seattle Glassblowing Studio with renowned artists like James Mongrain, Manolo Aguilera, and Minhi England. Don’t miss the captivating neon bending demos at Radiant Neon or the live demos by Indigenous artist Dan Friday, hosted by the City of Shoreline.
- Sparkling Parties: Kick off the festival with “Gather: The Official Opening Party” at Chihuly Garden and Glass on October 17. Celebrate the Pilchuck Glass School’s 45th Annual Auction & Gala on October 19 at Fremont Studios and join the festive Closing Party on October 20 at a soon-to-be-announced location.
