The Auction of Washington Wines is bringing back the summer’s biggest wine event with the Winemaker Picnic and Barrel Auction on Friday, August 9! Benefiting Seattle Children’s, Washington State University’s viticulture & enology department, and Vital Wines. You’ll have the opportunity to meet Washington winemakers, taste a selection of more than 200 wines, and enjoy elevated Picnic fare from the most esteemed chefs in town!

MEET THE WINEMAKERS

Choose from more than 200 wines, many of which are being poured by the winemakers themselves! Hear their stories, ask about their winemaking approach, and find out what makes the wine they are pouring for you so special. For a more guided tasting, head to our brand-new Vintners Station, where select winemakers will be pouring exclusive wines that are typically reserved for wine club members, or head to one of the various Washington wine tasting bars, or toast summer at the Sparkling Wine and Rosé Bar!

ENJOY ELEVATED PICNIC FARE

Great wines deserve food that goes beyond traditional picnic fare, and this year there will be 11 Seattle-area chefs and restaurants providing a tantalizing array of Pacific Northwest favorites to choose from! Select from items such as signature fried chicken drumsticks from Cookie’s Country Chicken, hot smoked Pacific Northwest salmon from Ray’s Boathouse, Dungeness crab in a nori cone from Surrell, chopped brisket birria tacos from Jack’s BBQ, berbere whiskey glazed chicken wings from Communion, and more! Got a sweet tooth? Head to the ice cream bar from FogRose or round out your meal with a sweet treat from Trophy Cupcakes!

Serious about your wines? The Barrel Auction is your chance to taste barrel samples from 35 different Washington wineries and be one of five winning bidders to secure a case of the future release wine before it’s available anywhere else.

Proceeds from the Winemaker Picnic & Barrel Auction benefit Seattle Children’s, WSU Wine Science Research, and Vital Wines.
