Seabrook – A Destination for Spring Break and Beyond
THE WASHINGTON COAST IS A MUST-SEE LOCATION for locals and visitors to our state, with forests, rivers, and beaches that feature a unique, Northwestern beauty. However, finding a place to stay that’s close to the outdoor action but walkable to everything needed for the perfect getaway can be challenging. Enter Seabrook, the vibrant beach town located just under three hours from Seattle. A sustainable haven for vacationers, day-trippers, and full-time residents, Seabrook is the premier place to experience all the coast has to offer.
Vacation rentals are located in eight micro-neighborhoods, from beachfront to the serene farm district. The homes vary in size and style and include private hot tubs, pet-friendly lodging, extended outdoor spaces, and outdoor showers as possible options. The enchanting town center boasts numerous retail shops, restaurants, a wine bar, a sweet shop, a bakery, and more. The beginning of 2023 will bring a new 11,000 square foot grocery and a 1980s era Arcade. In the warmer months, the beer garden offers live music, karaoke, and several food trucks including a Cookie’s Country Chicken coastal outpost. Seabrook features 18 parks, a rejuvenating spa, a central amphitheater, sports courts, an indoor pool, and several community fire pits. A dedicated concierge service is poised to assist guests with anything from procuring groceries and chef services, to planning the perfect outing.
Throughout the year, visitors can expect exciting events and activities, including an outdoor summer concert series with views of the ocean, oceanfront yoga sessions, mushroom foraging, clam digging, and seasonal celebrations like the upcoming SpringFest. This Spring Break extravaganza will bring six weeks of family fun, beginning March 19th and running through April 24th. Each day of the week features a special activity, including magic shows, laser tag, scavenger hunts, boat building, and more for kids of all ages.
Outdoor enthusiasts are in luck at this beachfront retreat. Biking is a local favorite, with miles of mountain bike trails suitable for all skill levels and fat-tire options for cruising the beach or riding in the shallow waves. Seabrook was carefully designed with bicycles in mind, so if the mountains and the beach aren’t your cup of tea, biking through the neighborhoods is a great alternative. Hiking is another beloved activity for guests. From the popular Gnome Trail that connects from the forest down to the beach to the trails in the green belt between the Farm District and Lily Walk neighborhoods, Seabrook has plenty of easy and kid-friendly options. For the more adventurous, several advanced hikes are a short drive away.
For those that can’t stay out of the water, Seabrook offers year-round surfing, kayaking, skimboarding, and paddleboarding. There are three access points down to miles of wide-open beach, a quick 10-minute walk from town. While swimming may not always be in season, beachcombing, sandcastle building, and glass float collecting are excellent year-round activities.
Anyone looking to further explore the coast won’t find a better basecamp for extended active adventures. Olympic National Park, Lake Quinault, the famed Ruby Beach, Humptulips river, and Marymere Falls are all easy day trips. Anglers of any skill level will find several fishing options on nearby rivers or can head to the ocean for a deep-sea experience.
Don’t want to pack all the gear? Buck’s Northwest, a centrally located shop in Seabrook, provides everything an eager explorer could need, from equipment rentals to surfing and biking lessons. They also offer several guided experiences including a stand-up paddleboard trip through the legendary Copalis River Ghost Forest.
No matter the season, Seabrook is a wonderful place to decompress and reconnect - a Northwest experience that simply can’t be missed.
