Seattle Met and Ellenos Bring Local Chefs and Desserts Together
It was both a homecoming for Pike Place Market and a positive signal of downtown reopening on a beautiful day.
To thank Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt hometown fans and support Seattle restaurants, Alex Apostolopoulos, Ellenos co-founder, and Nicole Vogel, CEO of Seattle Met, co-hosted a virtual yogurt tasting experience to celebrate The Pike Place Collection.
Over 170 people participated with the trio of iconic desserts online – watching, commenting and voting on the very best of all the new flavors. Guests had picked up their complimentary cups of Ellenos Yogurt packs in advance at the pop-ups outside of Metropolitan Markets.
Located at Pike Place Market, Ellenos reopened its store doors just in time for its new launch and summer fun.
“It’s a good time to remember local Seattle businesses. It’s been such a tough year. So it’s wonderful to host this event and celebrate at the market” says Vogel.
Surprise guest Brian Canlis, co-owner of landmark fine-dining Canlis restaurant, joined to talk about its new head chef Aisha Ibrahim, Canlis desserts, and his favorite flavor in the new collection: Coconut Cream Pie.
Rachel Yang, owner of Joule, Revel and Trove restaurants popped online next – to the delight of online food fans. She shared her family’s favorite new flavors in The Pike Place Collection.
What’s the best way to eat your favorite Ellenos yogurt?
According to Apostolopoulos: “You want to go straight down,” he answers. “We put so much effort into making the puree, the yogurt, and the crumble that you want to be able to taste each one, and just how good it is. So, resist your urge to stir!”
