Seattle may be famous for its coffee and music scene, but the soul of the Emerald City lies in its focus on social impact and its passion for health and fitness.

On Sunday, July 28, the Seattle yoga community will combine personal practice with purpose at the inaugural Yoga Gives to St. Jude festival, presented by lululemon. The all day, multi-session event will benefit the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®: Finding Cures. Saving Children®.

It costs a lot to cure a child with cancer or other life-threatening disease. But thanks to events like Yoga Gives to St. Jude and the funds raised by its participants and corporate support, the price patients’ families pay for the latest technology and care at St. Jude is $0. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food—because all they should worry about is helping their child live.

The Pacific Northwest has consistently embraced this lifesaving mission, and this event will be no exception. The inaugural Yoga Gives to St. Jude event is anticipated to draw more than 150 individuals and raise $25,000 to help St. Jude continue revolutionizing the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

St. Jude is unique in that it freely shares its research worldwide, so one child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists can use that knowledge to save thousands more children around the world. Although the hospital is located in Tennessee, its research and discoveries touch the lives of children across the globe, including in the Pacific Northwest.

The mini yoga festival experience will take place at the University of Washington Botanic Gardens. The five outdoor yoga sessions will each be accompanied by live music and will be led by some of Seattle's most admired and high-profile yogis, including Chelsea Seaman, Robin Martin, Morgan Zion, CJ Yeagley, Anna Douglas, and Alexis Franklin. Between sessions, participants can browse the Vendor Village for yoga gear, wellness products, healthy snacks, raffle prizes, and more.
