The long-anticipated expansion and re-styling of Marios on 6th Avenue is now complete and open, securing its place as Seattle’s gem of specialty retailing. The store’s stunningly designed new space doubles the footprint of the women’s department, enabling the luxury retail icon to add renowned and up-and-coming designers, including Valentino, Akris, Saint Laurent, Chloe, Kiton, Jitrois, Rosetta Getty, Galvan, Adam Lippes, Monsieur Gavriel and Aquazarra. The women’s department also features new boutiques by Brunello Cucinelli and Lora Piana as well as favorites like The Row, Peter Cohen, and many other sought-after designers.

Several cases have been added to what promises to be the most extraordinary collection of fine designer jewelry in the Pacific Northwest, newly moved to the street level. The beautifully curated collections feature new designers Stephen Webster, Kwiat Vhernier, Assael, and Foundrae, along with famed jewelry design houses Sylvia & Cie, Nam Cho, Temple St. Clair, Todd Reed, Kai Linz, and Paolo Costagli.

While Marios didn’t add square footage to their already spacious men’s department, they made it feel even larger by taking down walls and reconfiguring it for a more open and dramatic feel. Men’s designers new to the store include Brioni, Michael Bastian Gray Label, Atelier Munro, Common Projects, Samuelsohn, John Rich Woolrich, Oficine Generale, and 04651, as well as new world-class boutiques by Ermenegildo Zegna, Isaiah, Brunello Cucinelli, Loro Piana, and Eton.

Marios Seattle is located in the iconic Decatur. A building of great historical significance, The Decatur was built in 1950 by John Graham, Jr., one of Seattle’s most prominent mid-century architects. Graham achieved not only local, but national, prominence and went on to design the Space Needle and other noteworthy buildings.

When envisioning this renovation, it was important to founder Mario Bisio and the Mitchell retail family that they work with a local design team, one that would add a Pacific Northwest sensibility to the project. Headed by Randy Higgins of Felt Hat, the team strove to create an environment that would be welcoming, beautiful, and integrate seamlessly with the level of Marios’ merchandise and service.

“It was important to Mario that all design elements were curated and eclectic and that the space feel welcoming, with fixtures that are more like furniture. Everything is locally crafted. The denim table, for example, is made of Oregon end-grain doug fir,” said Higgins.

Customers and stars of the fashion world alike are excited to participate in this landmark expansion and re-opening. Says designer Brunello Cucinelli, “The Marios brand has

pioneered their vision in specialty retail through their ability to build relationships

on trust, dignity, and respect. I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of the expansion

into Seattle and a part of a family whose soulful foundation and deep connections have given me both inspiration and gratitude.”

Marios is located at 1513 6th Avenue (between Pike and Pine Street). Visit their website at Marios.com
