Poetry on Buses: Attend a Workshop. Write a Poem.

Poetry on Buses: Attend a Workshop. Write a Poem.
Poetry on Buses is a long running public art program—putting poems on your transit ride instead of advertising. Our mission is to make your bus or light rail ride inspiring. This year it’s back with a new theme: Your Body of Water—a poetic exploration of our connection to water and how we protect and care for it.
Everyone across King County is encouraged to submit a poem for consideration—all ages and all people—whether you think of yourself as a poet or not. Poems will be accepted in English, Chinese, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tlingit, and Vietnamese.
You can submit a poem to the Poetry on Buses project, 50 words or less, anytime now through September 30 at poetryonbuses.org. 365 poems will be selected and published online and on transit starting April of next year.
Poetry on Buses started in 1992 through a partnership by 4Culture and King County Metro. This year’s program is made possible by these additional partners: the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, Sound Transit, King County Wastewater Treatment Division, King County Water and Land Resources Division and Seattle Public Utilities.
