Introducing uberHOP, Your New Commuting Option

In December, Seattle was the first city globally to pilot uberHOP, a new transportation option for commuters. The idea’s simple: you share a ride—and the cost—with up to 5 other people along popular routes.
If you work in South Lake Union, Downtown, or SoDo, uberHOP is a great alternative to driving alone and dealing with the hassle of parking. Every weekday from 7-10am and 4:30-7:30pm, you can request a ride on one of 12 routes serving Ballard, Capitol Hill, Fremont, Wallingford, Queen Anne, and West Seattle.
And it gets better: Throughout the month of February, all uberHOP trips are just $1, which means your commute to and from work will cost less than your morning latte ritual.
Here are a few tips to help you get started:
- Open the Uber app, select the uberHOP option, and request your route when you're less than 10 minutes away from the pickup spot.
- Walk to the pickup spot. Your driver will leave at the end of the countdown shown in the app.
- Jump in your roomy ride and head straight to the dropoff spot.
