The people of Hawai‘i are proud of their history and revere the royals that reigned here until the late 19th century. June 11 is King Kamehameha Day, a celebration of the legendary monarch who united the Hawaiian Islands under his rule in 1810. This year, the 100th Annual King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade will honor the beloved monarch with a uniquely brilliant display of pageantry. The parade begins in downtown Honolulu and proceeds to Kapi’olani Park. An all-day ho’olaule‘a (celebration) begins at 11 am and a special concert will be held at the Waikīkī Shell from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
