Penny U: Imagining Tomorrow's Work

The final installment of the Penny University series covers the changing nature of work in our economy. Budget Matters 2014

It's the Super Bowl weekend for budget nerds when Governor Jay Inslee rolls into town as keynote speaker for the 2014 Budget Matters conference.

Inslee's plenary is entitled, "A discussion on the intersection of climate and income inequality" and is sure to include the joke, "how many environmentalists does it take to screw an eco-friendly light bulb into an affortable housing unit?"

Other panels and discussions cover the topics of advancing racial equity, mental health care, job creation, and tax changes. This is the sort of event that is a good temperature check on the upcoming year. Registration ends today.

Budget Matters 2014, Fri, Dec 12, 9am, Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Pl, $100
