For Wednesday

PSGA Presents the 22nd Annual Conference: Awakening Your Case!

Getting a novel published is hard. But have you ever tried writing a grant? For anyone attempting to fund a nonprofit, this is the first (and sometimes biggest) hurdle. And unlike figuring out how to make the perfect stir-fry, there aren't many how-to grant writing YouTube videos out there.

Luckily, the Puget Sound Grantwriters Association is about the throw their 22nd annual conference, where both experienced and prospective grantwriters can mingle and trade best practices. The keynote speaker will be Sonya Campion of the Campion Fountation, advocates of supportive funding for the nonprofit community.

Awaking Your Case!, Wed, Oct 29, 7:30am–4:30pm, Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Pl, $195

For Thursday

Communiversities: Examining Mission and Access

Back when community colleges were more commonly known as "junior colleges," the assumption was that they were made exclusively for high school dropouts and bored, empty nest housewives. That connotation is becoming less relevant every day.

Come join a panel discussion about the changing landscape of community colleges, and their continued growth as a viable alternative to traditional four-year universities. Panelists include Jean Floten, First Chancellor of Western Governors University, and Denise Yochum, President at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom.

Communiversities: Examining Mission and Access, Thu, Oct 30, 6pm–8, Northeastern University-Seattle, 401 Terry Ave N, Free
