Connecting Mercer Island to the Mainland
Sound Transit hosts an open house to give riders and residents a look at the latest designs for the Mercer Island segment of East Link light rail, including the Mercer Island station in the center roadway of I-90. Sound Transit expects East Link to carry about 50,000 riders each weekday by 2030. East Link constructino will start in 2015.

Join a community walk through Columbia City to examine the Unreinforced Masonry Buildings in the area. Although these buildings are packed with charm, their outdated structures pose a public hazard in the chance of an earthquake. A group of community outreach specialists and structural engineers will discuss policy options for their renovation during the walk. The community is encouraged to participate in the discussion on restoring buildings while retaining their historical value.
