For Friday
Rocking with Redhook
The Fremont Fair is much more than bicycling in the buff– in addition to the famous naked bike ride, the weekend celebrates the artistic, fun-loving, quirky side of Fremont with local band performances, shopping, arts and crafts, food and drink, and a 5k run.
There's no better place to kick-off summer in Seattle than in the Center of the Universe.
Start out at the Friday Night Pre-Party before the morning of Solstice. The pre-party features a lineup of local bands– The Fabulous Party Boys, Skablins, Cumbieros, Longstride, and Publish the Quest– and a bevvy of local beers provided by Woodinville's Redhook Brewery to kick off to Saturday morning's Solstice Parade.
Friday Night Pre-Party, June 21, 4-11pm, Redhook Main Stage, corner of Phinney Ave N and N 35th St, free.

And For Wednesday

Capturing Climate Change
Local (and prescient) sustainability think tank Sightline is hosting a series of lectures at Town Hall to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
The first event features renowned Northwest photographer Chris Jordan, who will share his experiences and work from Midway Island, at the epicenter of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
Jordan's photography, including iconic images of dead albatrosses with stomachs full of pastic they mistook for food, is not for the faint of stomach. It presents the immediate and devastating effects of climate change.
Sightline@20 Speaker Series: Chris Jordan, Wed, June 19, 7:30-9pm, Town Hall, 1119 8th Ave, $5
Eastside Senators Under Heat
Join hundreds of concerned voters and members of the 160 organizations that comprise our Economic Future Coalition, in calling on Eastside state senators to pass the state budget and avoid government shutdown. Specifically calling out Sen. Andy Hill from Redmond and Sen. Rodney Tom from Medina, the rally will bring to focus the importance of prioritizing education and critical services instead of allowing special interest to take advantage of tax loopholes.
Rally for a Just Budget, Wed, June 19, 6pm, Heritage Park, 111 Waverly Way, Kirkland, free.
