Honoring Workers in Washington State
Honor those who have died from workplace-related injuries and illnesses and learn more about how to promote safe workplaces at a Worker Memorial Day ceremony at the University of Washington. In 2012, according to the UW's environmental and occupational health sciences department, 65 workers died from on-the-job injuries and illnesses in Washington state.

Green Building
Come celebrate the grand opening of the Bullitt Center, the greenest commercial building in the world. Governor Jay Inslee and Mayor Mike McGinn, and Bullitt Foundation (and Earth Day founder) Denis Hayes will speak, followed by guided tours of the building, which includes a solar roof, sustainable building materials, rainwater capture system—and no parking.
