Today's loser: King County Sheriff Steve Strachan.

Strachan, who was appointed to replace former sheriff Sue Rahr earlier this year, broke the county's ethics code by campaigning (at a Republican Party picnic where his campaign also had a booth) in his official sheriff's uniform and by posting photos of himself in uniform on his campaign and Facebook web sites. The King County ombudsman found that Strachan had "use[d] County resources in [his] election campaign."

The prohibition on campaigning with public resources, of course, is Ethics 101.

Strachan's web site and Facebook page still, as of this post, include the photos of Strachan in uniform.
