PubliCalendar: Enviros for Maureen Judge
Tomorrow’s PubliCalendar pick for political nerds:
Dow Constantine hosts Environmental Champions for Maureen Judge
Wednesday, August 1st, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, O’Asian, 800 5th Ave. Donations requested, from $50 to $500.
King County Executive Dow Constantine invites the public to join state senators and representatives in supporting Maureen Judge, a Democratic candidate who's running against Republican state Sen. Steve Litzow (R-41). While Litzow gained some support from moderate Democrats for voting for Sen Ed Murray's (D-43) bill legalizing gay marriage in Washington State, he lost other backers, including NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, when he voted against a pro-choice bill that would have required companies that pay for maternity care to also cover abortions.
Join the event on Facebook or RSVP to Carli DeCaro, [email protected], 206-766-0510.
And don’t forget our PubliCola pick for today:
Seattle Works‘ Ballot Party, July 31 at 5:30pm, The Nabob Bar (819 5th Ave N.) Free.
