WA Sens. Murray and Cantwell Join Two Dozen Senators in Opposing Komen Decision
No winner or loser today (except maybe Planned Parenthood, which got a lot of new supporters today, including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg), just a Jolt:
Washington State Sens. Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, along with two dozen other senators (all Democrats, except for Bernie Sander, I-VT), signed a letter today asking Komen Foundation director Nancy Brinker to reconsider her group's controversial decision to stop funding breast cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood.
The letter, which notes that Planned Parenthood performs more than 700,000 mammograms to test for breast cancer every year, concludes:

It would be tragic if any woman—let alone thousands of women— lost access to these potentially life-saving screenings because of a politically motivated attack.
