Joel Connelly has an interesting campaign trail tidbit over at the PI's blog: Travel writer, NPR personality, and pro-pot activist Rick Steves has sent out a fundraising letter on behalf of the Democrats' gubernatorial candidate US Rep. Jay Inslee.

In touting Inslee, a Steves-signed fundraising letter cites the congressman’s accomplishments in Congress, while denouncing Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna for actions on the local level.

“Jay is one of the few who stood up against deregulating Wall Street, and voted against the bank bailout,” Steves writes.  “He’s committed to keeping up his fight for the middle class in Olympia.  That’s unlike Rob McKenna, who’s working on a settlement that is rumored to be giving banks a free pass for their role in the mortgage crisis.”
