The Latest Election Results

By Erica C. Barnett November 9, 2011

Here are the latest results, as of this afternoon's vote drop, in close and still-undecided state and local races. King County Elections announces a new batch of ballots at 4:30 every afternoon.

A few changes of note: In King County Council District 6, Jane Hague edged up a tiny bit over challenger Richard Mitchell.

In the open Bellevue city council seat, Kemper Freeman's candidate Aaron Laing gained a hundredth of a percentage point over John Stokes, leaving that race still too close to call.

In an unusually ugly city council race in Renton, Ed Prince gained over Robin Jones for an open seat.

In the only remotely close Seattle City Council race, Jean Godden lost a little ground to challenger Bobby Forch, but not enough for Forch to pull ahead of the incumbent.

In the Seattle school board races, incumbent Peter Maier lost a little ground to challenger Sharon Peaslee---but almost certainly not enough for Peaslee to pull ahead---and incumbent Steve Sundquist lost even more ground to challenger Marty McLaren, who seems likely to take Sundquist's seat in a race that remains too close to call.

Finally, Tim Eyman's Initiative 1125 slipped further behind, reflecting the massive anti-Eyman turnout (currently 62 to 38 percent) in King County.
