SPD: "Many of the Tents Were Actually Empty."

By Josh Feit October 17, 2011

Jonah has the latest word from the SPD on this morning's arrests.

As of 9 am the police say seven people were arrested this morning when the SPD ordered the Occupy Seattle protesters to take down the 150 tents that were set up Westlake—and had been there since Saturday night.

The SPD says three adult men were arrested for "obstructing a public officer and resisting arrest." They are going to be booked into King County Jail.

Additionally, three adult men and one woman were arrested  for "obstructing." There's currently no final decision on when they'll be booked.

According to SPD spokesman Sean Whitcomb: "Many of the tents were actually empty."

We'll report back when we have more information on that.
