The Sierra Club's local endorsements, which the group released yesterday, include two challengers---Brad Meacham, who's running against incumbent Bruce Harrell for Position 3, and Bobby Forch, challenging Jean Godden for Position 1.

Although the group's Meacham endorsement stuck to praising the challenger's environmental credentials, their endorsement for Forch criticized Godden explicitly, saying she "has not been a strong advocate for the environment" on the council.

The club also endorsed Tim Burgess, the incumbent in Position 7.

Streets for All, the campaign to pass a $60 car-tab fee in November (the fee would pay for road maintenance, transit, and bike and pedestrian improvements) just got a big check---$5,000---from the Vulcan development company.

Vulcan, of course, is the longtime nemesis of Seattle Displacement Coalition founder John Fox, who's running the anti-car-tab campaign with the backing of a long list of neighborhood, anti-density, and low-income housing activists.
