Man shot in attempted robbery on Beacon Hill:

On July 31st, at approximately 3:36 AM, South Precinct officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 2900 Block of Beacon Avenue South.  Officers arrived and made contact with the victim who told them the following:

The suspect and the victim had gone downtown together and then taken a cab to a gas station in the 2400 Block of Beacon Avenue South.  The suspect and the victim made a purchase inside the store and then began to walk south along Beacon together.

When the two reached the 2900 Block, the suspect pulled out a gun, pointed it at the victim, and demanded money.  The victim declined to hand over any money and ran away from the suspect. As the victim was running away, the suspect fired one shot that struck the victim in the buttocks.

The victim was transported to Harborview with a non life-threatening injury.  Officers established containment quickly and a K-9 team attemtped to track the suspect.  Officers were not able to locate the suspect.  No other evidence was located at the scene.  Officers interviewed the victim at the hospital, but he refused to provide any additional information or cooperate with the investigation.

Argument Leads to Stabbing On Capitol Hill:

On July 31st, at approximately 2:45 AM, East Precinct officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 1700 Block of Bellevue Avenue.  Apparently, the male suspect and victims are all acquaintances.  All were drinking inside the residence.  The suspect and the male victim got into an argument.  The argument escalated and the suspect stated that he was going to stab the man.  He used a kitchen knife to cut/stab the victim in the left side of his neck.  The other victim, a female, attempted to break up the fight and she sustained a blow to the jaw area, as well as an injury to her hand.  Officers contacted all the parties involved and took the suspect into custody without incident.  Seattle Fire Department responded and treated the victim at the scene.  He was later transported to Harborview Medical Center with a non life-threatening injury.  The 30 year old suspect was later booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault.
