The Morning Blotter: Man iRobbed Near Othello Light Rail Station
Yet another (former) iPhone owner was robbed after a man let a stranger borrow his phone near the Othello Light Rail stop last week.
The victim was walking to the stop at Martin Luther King Jr Way S and S Othello around 2:30 p.m. on August 22nd when two men approached him and asked if they could borrow his phone.
Despite the fact that one of the suspects was already carrying a cell phone, the victim handed his iPhone 3GS over and followed the men west on Othello.
At one point, one of the suspects stopped at a home in the 7200 block of 46th Ave S, where he went inside and got a coat.
The victim walked with the suspects to 45th Ave S. and S. Othello St before he asked the suspect for his phone back.
The men told him "that's not going to happen," and one of the suspects "clenched his fists and held them up and told something to the effect of 'you don't want any of this'" a police report says.
The victim walked away and called 911 from his home.
Police went to the home the suspect had stopped at earlier, but no one answered the door.
