Suspicious Package Found At SPD's North Precinct

Police have shut down streets around the North Precinct after a suspicious package was found outside the precinct just after 12:30 p.m.


Police tell us Wallingford Ave is shut down while officers investigate.


More details as we get them.


Update: A police source tells Seattlecrime the building has been evacuated and the bomb squad is en route.


Update x2: The package was found in a parking lot on the east side of the precinct, which is open to the public.


Update x3: Police tell us the suspicious package was delivered to the North Precinct by a postal worker. The bomb squad has x-rayed the package and is waiting for the x-rays to develop.


Update x4 @ 2:10 pm: Police tell us the package was determined to be harmless.
