Washington State Gets Top Ranking in Young Voter Scorecard
According to an analysis by Rock the Vote, a group that works to promote voting and political activism among young people, Washington State ranked number one nationwide last year in terms of how well its voting system serves young people.
Rock the Vote's scorecard ranked states based on things like ease of voter registration, convenience of voting, and voter education. Washington ranked highest in the voter registration category because the state allows online registration, saving the state $126,000 last year. The state also won points because it allows voting by mail, requires civics education, and allows absentee voting.
