Tonight
PubliCalendar Picks: The 46th District Democrats
46th District Democrats Endorsement Meeting.
Tonight is one of your last opportunities to watch the candidates in local races woo the local Democratic Party organizations---this time, North Seattle's 46th District Democrats.
Will city council incumbent Jean Godden get the shaft again, after being snubbed by the 34th District Dems (who issued a dual endorsement for Godden and her opponent Bobby Forch), the 36th District Dems (who endorsed Forch and another Godden opponent, Maurice Classen) the 37th District Dems (who endorsed Forch), and the 43rd District Dems (who endorsed Classen, with Godden coming in last)?
Will Godden, who has skipped out on the last two district Democratic forums, even show up?
Will challengers in the school board races continue to be spoilers, preventing incumbents from getting the Democrats' endorsement, as they have in Sherry Carr's race (Kate Martin), Harium Martin-Morris' race (Michelle Beutow), Steve Sundquist's race (Marty McLaren) and Peter Maier's (Sharon Pealsee)?
Will the anti-tunnel campaign finally get a win, after losing to the pro-tunnel side in the 34th, losing in the 36th, and getting a "no endorsement" in the 37th (where a "yes" vote almost won) and 43rd (where the "no" position came just a few votes of winning)?
