Cops Shut Down High School Party House

Seattle police have shut down an abandoned house across near Ballard High School's campus after receiving complaints from neighbors that students were regularly partying in the vacant home.

Neighbors tells us that in recent weeks, they have contacted police about groups of students from Ballard High School and Whitman Middle School breaking into the home on 65th and 15th NW, during and after school hours, to do homework drink and do drugs.

When officers visited the home this week, they found used mattresses inside.

Police tell us the home has been vacant for at least two years. Police records indicate that officers have responded to several reports of break-ins at the house since 2009.

According to SPD, the property owners—a Seattle real estate company—have told police they're going to board up the property to try to keep students out.
