Last Night

Toasting C.R. Douglas

News Nerds Unite

Last night, we took Seattle Channel's all-star local news host, C.R. Douglas, out for drinks at Boka to toast his bittersweet announcement: After doing the best civic affairs show in town for over a decade (he started broadcasting at Seattle Channel in 1997), he's leaving the station. No scandal or big backstory here. Douglas just feels it's time for a change.

The conversation quickly turned away from Douglas—and to the people we cover, namely Mayor Mike McGinn. (Douglas does a show called "Ask the Mayor.")

It was all off the record.
