City Hall

SCAN Director to Challenge Clark

By Erica C. Barnett March 16, 2011

Learn to trust the Cola: At the 11th District Democrats' meeting last night, Seattle Community Access Network director Dian Ferguson announced that she planned to run for city council against incumbent Sally Clark.

PubliCola reported that Ferguson was considering a run for council back in February. Ferguson joins long-shot Clark opponent Fathi Karshie, a paralegal.

Ferguson did not return a call for comment last month, and has not returned an email this evening. Clark, along with other council members, voted to drastically reduce funding for public-access TV programming and to open the contract currently held by SCAN to a public bidding process.

Clark has raised $134,000, and has $111,000 on hand.
