Juxtaposition of the Day: D.C. vs. Spokane

By Josh Feit March 10, 2011

I don't think the the white supremacist accused of planting a bomb at a Spokane MLK Day parade in January was radicalized at a mosque.

Today, obviously, U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-NY), Republican chair of the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, held his hearings on the radicalization of Muslim Americans.

Given yesterday's headlines out of Spokane about the arrest of a Stevens County white supremacist in the Martin Luther King day backpack bombing plot, we turn the mike over to U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Mississippi), the ranking Democrat on the committee.

U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson

The New York Times reports
:
Mr. Thompson noted the arrest in the case of a bomb planted near a Martin Luther King Day march in Spokane, Wash., of a man reportedly associated with a white supremacist group. He said he hoped the committee would hold another hearing on the threat from anti-government extremists and white supremacists.

And if I may get all Erica "the C. is for Crank" Barnett on you for a second, how about some hearings on the radicalization of the pro-life movement?
