Baths at Chop Suey

By Anand Balasubrahmanyan March 1, 2011

California computer-music prodigy, Baths, brings his intimate orchestra to Chop Suey tonight. His debut Cerulean
, a masterpiece of disembodied choirs and pulsing piano, was the album I walked around with last year.

The mood is introspective but not melancholy; a quiet moment with yourself when you realize why something makes you happy.

It's music filled with a mischievous yet patient pleasure, like a deliberate, long yawn.

8PM, Chop Suey, 1325 East Madison Street, $10.

Baths makes songs that are great to get lost in. The mood is introspective but not melancholy; a quiet moment with yourself when you realize why something makes you happy. It's music filled with a mischievous yet patient pleasure, like a deliberate, long yawn.
