Tunnel Supporters Out in Force at Council Hearing

I'm at the tunnel hearing at City Hall, where city council members are expected to approve three agreements with the state enabling the deep-bore tunnel to move forward. (Mayor Mike McGinn has vowed to veto the council's vote, forcing the council to override the veto; in addition, the council will have to vote on the agreements again later this year, when the state releases its final environmental impact statement on the tunnel.)

So far, the testimony has been overwhelmingly in favor of the tunnel. I'm surrounded by state officials who support the project, including state transportation secretary Paula Hammond, WSDOT tunnel project manager Ron Judd, and these guys:
