The Morning Blotter: Stabbing Victim Doesn't Want to Talk to Police

By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee February 9, 2011

Police were called to 7th and Pike around 5:45pm on February 4th, where they found a man with a "deep stab wound to his lower back/kidney area," according to a police report.

Medics transported the man to Harborview where, the report says, he refused to tell police what had led to the stabbing.

An off-duty officer who'd been near the scene of the incident—but had not witnessed the stabbing—apparently helped detain a 23-year-old man, who was later booked the man into the King County Jail for assault.

Officers recovered a bloody knife and $248 in cash at the scene. It's not clear whether the suspect or victim was carrying the cash.
