Here we go again.
A Seattle police officer is on administrative reassignment and is being investigated after an incident that occurred while he was off-duty, sources inside the Seattle Police Department told KIRO 7 on Wednesday.
The incident happened on December 12, outside the BalMar bar in Ballard, according to court documents.
Haynes was off-duty and at the bar with a friend, according to court documents. A woman grabbed their jackets and walked out of the bar, and the two confronted her, according to the documents. Haynes identified himself as a police officer and showed his badge as he followed the woman, but he and his friend were soon assaulted by three men, according to the documents.
The men threw Haynes to the ground and punched and kicked him in the head, according to the documents. The documents also read that there was "little he could do to avoid the punches."
Officers arrived and detained the attackers.
Seattle police released a statement Wednesday and said that they had received a misconduct complaint about Haynes after he "made physical contact with one of the three handcuffed suspects."
