By Jonah Spangenthal-Lee February 2, 2011

From the King County Prosecutor's office:

Guilty plea in aggravated murder case

Daniel Thomas Hicks pleaded guilty this morning as charged to two counts of Aggravated First Degree Murder (09-1-07578-2) for the shooting deaths of his girlfriend Jennifer Morgan and their 13-week-old daughter Emma on December 21, 2009 in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood. Hicks will face a mandatory sentence of life in prison without release when he is sentenced on February 18 at 2 p.m. before Judge Susan Craighead at the King County Courthouse, courtroom E-753.

This is one of the most horrifying cases I've written about. I'm glad it's over.
