Learn to Trust the Fizz: Forch in Against Godden

By Josh Feit February 1, 2011

A few weeks back Fizz reported that Seattle transportation employee Bobby Forch was going to run against City Council member Jean Godden.

Today, Forch announced that, indeed, he's in the race against Godden. (Godden has already drawn one other challenger, architect David Schraer.)

Forch's consultant is John Wyble. Wyble did a poll over the summer
showing that council members like Godden and Bruce Harrell are vulnerable. Wyble is also working for council candidate Brad Meacham, who's taking on Harrell.

In a press statement, Forch, an executive board member of the 37th District Democrats, said today:
“One of the first votes I would like to take as a City Councilmember is putting a city-wide transportation proposal on the ballot. This proposal needs to connect our neighborhoods to our regional light-rail system, neighborhoods to neighborhoods and give people the choice of taking transit over sitting in their car.”

Forch's website and video announcement are here.

Forch ran for the council in 2009, going for retiring African American Council Member Richard McIver's seat. Forch, who is black, did not make it through the primary. Seattle City Council member Mike O'Brien won the seat.
